Child Safety & CSAE Standards
Last updated: Dec 10th, 2025
Lightwell is operated by METANIMBUS INC. and provides AI-powered spiritual support and community features. We are committed to protecting children and vulnerable users from harm, including child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), across all parts of our service.
This document describes our safety standards, prohibited content and behavior, and how we respond to violations and reports.
1. Scope and Applicability
These standards apply to:
- all use of the Lightwell app and related services;
- all users, regardless of location; and
- all forms of content and behavior on the service, including text, images, links, profile information, group chats, and private messages.
These standards apply in addition to our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where there is a conflict, the stricter rule for child safety will apply.
2. Age Restrictions
- Lightwell is intended for adults 18 years and older.
- We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to use the service and do not intentionally collect their personal information.
- If we discover that a child is using the service, we will take appropriate steps, which may include disabling the account and removing related data.
Even though the app is designed for adults, we maintain strict protections against any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation.
3. Zero Tolerance for Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE)
Lightwell has a zero-tolerance policy toward CSAE. This includes, but is not limited to:
- any sexual or sexually suggestive content involving a minor, or someone who appears to be a minor;
- any attempt to create, share, request, or trade child sexual abuse material (CSAM);
- grooming, enticement, or attempts to build trust with a minor for sexual purposes;
- trafficking, exploitation, or any arrangement involving sexual acts with minors;
- threats, blackmail, or extortion involving sexual images or information about a minor.
We will immediately remove any content that violates this policy and may disable accounts and report appropriate information to law enforcement or child protection organizations, as permitted or required by law.
4. Prohibited Content and Behavior
The following are strictly prohibited on Lightwell:
1. Sexual content involving minors
- Images, drawings, or descriptions that depict minors in sexual or nude situations.
- Fictional or AI-generated content that sexualizes minors or appears to involve minors.
2. Grooming and sexual communication with minors
- Attempts to befriend, gain trust, or manipulate minors for sexual purposes.
- Sexual conversations, flirting, or requests for sexual favors where a minor is involved or believed to be involved.
3. Requests for explicit material from minors
- Asking minors to send nude or sexual images, videos, or live streams.
- Encouraging minors to engage in sexual behavior on or off the platform.
4. Sharing identifying information to facilitate exploitation
- Sharing or requesting a minor's personal contact details (such as phone number, address, school, or social media accounts) in a sexual or exploitative context.
5. Any form of trafficking or organized exploitation
- Coordination, promotion, or facilitation of sexual exploitation, trafficking, or similar abuse involving minors.
6. Links to illegal CSA material
- Any link, reference, or direction that points to CSAM, CSAE groups, or services.
Users who engage in any of the above behavior may have their content removed, accounts suspended or terminated, and — where appropriate — information reported to relevant authorities.
5. Detection, Moderation, and Enforcement
To uphold these standards, we use a combination of:
- Automated tools to help detect potentially harmful or abusive content;
- Human review by trained staff, especially for flagged or reported content;
- Community reporting, allowing users to flag content or behavior that may be harmful.
When we find potential CSAE or child endangerment, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Immediately remove the offending content.
- Suspend or permanently disable the user account(s) involved.
- Restrict features (for example, group chat, messaging, or matching).
- Preserve relevant data and logs for a limited time to support investigations.
- Report appropriate information to law enforcement agencies or recognized child protection organizations, as permitted or required by law.
We may enforce these standards even where the behavior occurs partially off-platform if it is closely tied to activity on Lightwell and presents a clear risk to children.
6. Reporting Suspected Child Abuse or Exploitation
We strongly encourage users to report any content or behavior that may involve child sexual abuse, exploitation, or endangerment.
How to report
When you report, please include:
- a description of what you observed;
- usernames or profile links involved, if possible;
- screenshots or message excerpts, if safe and legal to share;
- any immediate safety concern.
If you believe a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services (for example, 911 or 988 in the U.S.) before or in addition to contacting us.
7. Cooperation With Law Enforcement and Child Protection Organizations
Where appropriate and consistent with applicable law, Lightwell may:
- cooperate with law enforcement investigations related to CSAE;
- share limited, relevant information about accounts and content involved in suspected abuse;
- work with recognized hotlines or child protection organizations to help identify and protect victims.
We will always seek to balance user privacy with the urgent need to protect children from harm.
8. Protection of Vulnerable Users
In addition to CSAE-specific rules, we aim to protect vulnerable users more broadly by:
- prohibiting harassment, bullying, and hate speech;
- discouraging sharing of personally identifiable information in public or group spaces;
- providing tools (such as blocking and reporting) to help users protect themselves;
- clearly stating that Lightwell is not an emergency or professional counseling service and encouraging users to seek local help where needed.
